Roll Call

A few notes to keep you in the loop:

- Kavinsky has just released his trailer for Nightcall on his myspace. Check it out.
- Blogs are under attack.
- MGMT have a new album coming out.
- Tiga has remix packages coming out for "Overtime", "Sex O'Clock", "Gentle Giant" & "Love Don't Dance Here Anymore".
- This particular viral campaign has everyone going nuts, as opposed to this one which left everyone disappointed.
- Coachella rocks and we will probably do posts on the bands going there, so stay tuned.

We'll be more diligent in the next weeks with posts until then here's a rip of the new Surkin song:

The Future of Disco

Another band to add to your collection of bands you like that start with the word "Black." You know Let There is all over this one like a powerful moss. Kris Menace and KoweSix team up as Black Van on DFA and they're working it. Menace's "Discopolis" was a LTBN favorite and "Yearning" does not disappoint by any means. I am excited to hear what else they can come up with.

Guess What

Ok, so I'm on the east coast now. This past weekend I was in DC and we got 20 inches of snow. Now I'm back in Brrrooklyn and there's like 10,000 inches. I'm kind of over it. But on the bright side, I got all my homework done, finished my taxes, and listened to the Penguin Prison remix of "I Am Not a Robot." See below. If you find yourself locked indoors like I have, it's good to make sure you have the correct provisions. In other news, there's a song called Minimal Elvis and I'm not sure who it's by and where to get it, but I found it on Youtube. Let me know if you have seen this person.

One More Time

You know what's gonna be weird? To see Phoenix fade away this year as other acts take their place, like happened to Cut Copy after their massive 2008. They'll make sporadic appearances every now and then, such as this cover of Bob Dylan's "Sad-Eyed Lady Of The Lowlands", but we should probably expect them to remain quieter this year. Maybe I'm wrong, but just in case, I hope you guys will join me in basking in their sound one more time.

Like A Kid In A Fair

Lo-Fi-Fnk Marchin In from Mattias Erik Johansson on Vimeo.

I hate that Lo-Fi-Fnk is so underrated. The Swedish duo have mastered an irresistible cotton candy sound/image for themselves that makes it tough for me to not see them as highly rated as they should be. Above you will find their video for their viral release "Marchin In" directed by Mattias Johansson. Below you will find the song, with vocal work done by Maja Gödicke, plus a bonus remix of theirs, one of the best of 2008. Enjoi!
