Just a couple of songs for you today. Here is Vitalic releasing his single "Second Lives" remixed by the ever-present and hard-working Lifelike, and here is the remix for Tiga's excellent "What You Need" remixed by 80's synth R&B vanguards Chromeo.

Bestest Single Evar

There seems to be a small sort of backlash by a certain internet sector towards Ciao!, Tiga's latest album. I don't understand it, Ciao! is a pretty solid album and has about 4 or 5 songs that are dancefloor ready, one of those being album opener "Beep Beep Beep", released on July with many, many remixes:

I'll Do That Guy

I always thought that Space Cowboy and Tiga have, at the very least, some aesthetic similarities as well as sharing the spotlight as eccentric pop singer personalities, closer to the term divas than anything else. In any case I rediscovered these two songs while sifting through music, and I couldn't help but put two and two together. See if you agree with me:

We Can Be Zeros

So the blogosphere has been talking about the upcoming Yeah Yeah Yeahs remixes for their single "Zero" (MSTRKRFT, AnCo, and Erol are involved). Most people have already repudiated the MSTRKRFT, but on first listen, I didn't really get as to why the backlash. It's a fine remix, maybe not as "ace" as Erol's or as "my-life-can-now-end-cuz-I-listened-to-this" as AnCo's, but seriously, even a hater like me can tell their mix is a step in the right direction, away from the awfulness their tracks have been riddled with recently. Wait for the drop around 2:14:

Also on the horizon, Tiga's (yes, Tiga news again) new single "Shoes" is dropping on April, 20th and is bringing the heat with what might be a contender for remix of the year as Mr Oizo takes over the original and revamps it to make it his own. Blog Hate-orade

I hear that Tiga is not exactly thrilled with the blog world, too bad the blog world goes completely gaga for him. His new album Ciao! is now on super hype level omega 7, with teasers, radio rips and leaks in full force before the proper release on April 20th. The album has a lot of production work from Soulwax, as well as contributions by Jori Hulkkonen, James Murphy, Gonzales and Philippe Zdar. I like this strategy of getting a solid group of knowledgeable, proper producers to help out throughout an album; it gives the album star power and cohesion at the same time.

Yes, I effed up. Should be more careful about posting music that isn't high quality (320 kpbs is STANDARD in the blog world). Most importantly, I want you, the readers, to have the best because that means I have it. No matter, I'm happy to rectify on past failures.

It was made apparent to me by comments around the blogosphere (and later takedowns of the song) that Tiga's Mind Dimension 2 leak was a low quality recording made into a 320 kpbs file. Seems like the culprit finally got his hands on the original:

Every time I Look Into Your Eyes I See WTF

Ok maybe I'm just not letting the music to hit me, but it seems like Tiga's Mind Dimension is a bit overhyped. I won't lie, I can't wait for his new stuff to drop and I can imagine this particular song feeling different on a dance floor, but until that happens for me, I'm gonna remain skeptical and very puzzled. One sure thing we can say for Tiga is that he does look out for us, promoting "Mind Dimension 1" in stream at Ohh! Crapp and allowing LAFriendly to post"Mind Dimension 2" as an exclusive. For those who are rather lazy or just like giving us the hits, we'll host it for a lil' bit:

In other news, as most of you know, the US crowd is preparing for Halloween, and for the kids that means candy, for the adults that means parties....and shows. Here in the southwest part of the country, LA happens to be hosting the best concert of the year I'm not going to (sold out) and a 'Sin City' is having one of my favorite artists at another massive outing that I can't get to. I thought I was gonna have no sort of Halloween excitement, and then I saw that The Toxic Avenger and Franki Chan are gonna be in San Diego this Friday for the festivities, so I find myself graced by luck once more:
