Fight The Power
....but I can't. I'm sorry, I should be more original and provide other stuff and not just Boys Noize leaks, promos, demos, mixes.... For better or for worse, we all know that this album is gonna be big. Whether it's good or not (it will be), the amount of people talking about it, scrutinizing it, repping it for life like their hipsterdom is at stake, etc. is gonna be enormous (true as well). I figure we might start the conversation by giving you a song off of the new album, Power, out in October (Sept. 28th digitally). Enjoi it and purchase the album when it comes out!

Monstruous

Just the equation of Erol Alkan and Boys Noize makes people drool. Add to that Bobermann, Bob Rifo of The Bloody Beetroots, and you've got a lot of buzz developed on just the three names. Then you just gotta hope the song kicks ass, and thankfully, it reminds you why you followed blogs in the first place.

Boys Noize is a LTBN favorite, so anytime he does anything, it's likely that we are going to post it. Well, he just released a 60 min mix as a pre-tour appetizer to wet our mouths and destroy our brains. I'm definetely going to go see him when he comes about and you should too.

Firestarters
Have been searching the interwebz for SONAR videos, and of course, for the SebastiAn live set from last friday. Suffice it to say no one has really unleashed a video that shows anything new in full, though I'm sure it will surface. It looks like it was fun regardless:
P.S. That is Busy P handing out masks on the last one...

Attendance Required
Good shows coming up, folks. This weekend sees California receive heavy blog-world juggernauts in the electronic scene in preparation for the big bash down in Austin. For starters, this Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Miami Horror will be showcasing his Aussie flair in SF, SD and LA, respectively. Tonight's show sees him pair up with the Cut Copy DJs at Popscene; tomorrow, my town will host him at U-31 for Feel the Noise, San Diego's favored electro-dance nite w/ DJs Gabe Vega and Saul Q; Saturday will have him with Futurecop! @ the Echoplex. There should be something to like for everybody here, even if it's not Miami Horror (shame on you if that's the case).
Just as interesting is tomorrow nite, as LA hosts HARD 13. An all-star cast of DJs, headlined by Boys Noize would warrant you being there anyways, but as if that wasn't enough, also playing are Shadow Dancer, Boy 8-Bit, Diplo, D.I.M. and Erol Alkan amongst others. You can take this moment to drool if you'd like.
2/3 of the members of this blog will be @ HARD 13, hopefully most of you who read this will be there, and if not then in any of the shows listed above. In any case, hef a fan thyme, cuz we know we will:

Take Me Outside Tonight
So far it's proved to be kinda hard to really remix the duo down in the management department, MGMT, as Justice have shown. While adding their brilliant signature hard-lectro-core sound, they didn't really do anything too groundbreaking to the group's number one single, "Electric Feel." Aeroplane take the song in a different direction, namely a disco one, but it remains to be seen if the sound will stick. If anything, it gives you a chance to hear the song that's been on your mind all summer from a different angle. See what you think.
MGMT - Electric Feel (Aeroplane remix)
Tonight there were hundreds of kidz walking in pairs through Golden Gate park to the Outside Lands music festival in San Francisco. Such greats as Jack Johnson, Tom Petty, Ben Harper and... yawn, someone get me a smokey dance floor, a bottle of Jameson and a straw and let's rock like it's 2012. Feel the juice with the newest leak from the Boyses Noises.

Noon Hangovers
Shadow Dancer is an alum of Boys Noize, signed under Mr. Riddha's label. This particular jam is packed with a variety of synths and electronic sounds that play particularly well when they come together; the breaks are adjusted with voice coder bits and other vocal samples, and the melody is decipherable in spite of how busy it is given the monotony of the of the rhythm section, which is a solid platform for the song to build off of:

Best of 2008?
Recently, Alex posted Cut Copy "Lights and Music," the single that was to ring the alarm for the new Cut Copy Album. He finished with the note, "I can already hear the remixes," but he spoke much too soon.
Boys Noize has dropped the distortion and gone for a more crisp feel, barely touching upon disco, and it feels so good. And that's to expect under the influence of Cut Copy and Philippe Zdar. Not too long ago Boys Noize put out the Feist Remix and people are liking the new direction since. Hopefully the year will continue this way!
